Where life is beautiful all the time

Wrong gender, right image.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my progenitor deeply (both of them), but having one of them visit for 3/4 of a month is loosening what few screws I may have left. For one thing, my mother and I are far too similar. For another, we’re far too different.

Hohooo heeheee haahaaa!

As an aside, it’s a pain in the backside trying to find a decent being-worn straight jacket picture out there. Most of the inhabited ones feature men, as above. The only female ones are either proto-porn, proto-bondage, nothing the hell like me or they’re parodies of Britney Spears, poor girl.

Isn’t it about time Ralph Lauren did a straightjacket-themed collection? I need pix. Sheesh. — Though then they would be worn by skinny, bored yet somehow wholesome looking blond models. Okay, Versace then, so the models get to be bored heroin-chic Italian. Just as long as they’re female.

  1. I can’t find it now, but there wasa designer that showed a line of straight-jackets at either Paris or New York this year. I was definitely one of those “oh dear…” moments 😉

  2. To the funny farm, where life is grand…

Don’t wait too long to pop the valium, or you may end up going Captain Howdy on everyone.

Did I mention my parents bought the house down the street from me? Oppressive…

    • Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!

I don’t think I could stand that. Being under each other’s feet all the time would drive us both crazy.

  4. My little sister & her husband bought the house next door to my parents, yes, literally right next door. But my town’s pop. was about 15,000 when I was growing up, and yes, most adults did know who you were, or at least whose kid you were, so living in each other’s pocket is kind of expected. My older sister bought my aunt’s house two blocks away, while the first house I looked at was just around the corner. Instead I ended up marrying an American girl and moving 8,000 miles away to Los Angeles.

My wife’s parents live about 5 miles away. Sometimes that’s too close, other times not close enough 😉

  5. We’re about 2 miles from our parents. (My wife’s parents live three houses down from my parents.) We’re moving though… to a place about a half mile closer (albeit in a different direction), and in between places owned by my cousin and *his* parents.

On the one hand, it’s kind of crazy being so close to everyone, but at the same time, it makes emergency babysitting easier, and mini family reunions easier. Also, if the dung really hits the fan in the economy, it’s easier for us all to consolidate and help each other.

Yes, it would be nice for some room (especially for this avowed soloer), but hey, I play games for that, right?
