Oh dear.
Harb is doing a 20 days of blogging thing which he got from IHTTS, which percolated down along a chain I’m too lazy to list (and I don’t read those blogs, at least not yet*).
My ego finds the idea very interesting. The rest of me is trying to beat it into submission and silence. I still love the idea of blogging, but I’m having a devil of a time finding the time to do it. Add the fact that I’m not really playing any MMOs (or any other game) right now and you get a big fat nothing to write about and very little time in which to write it.
Sometimes Facebook is just easier.
I can’t believe I just wrote that.
And yet my ego wants me to tell you all about myself (again) for no particular reason other than its own pleasure. Perhaps confessing the kinky temptation will make it go away. Thirty lashes for the ego and get back to work, dammit!**

*As an aside, the demise of Google reader appears to be spelling the demise of my blog reading. Feedly is okay, but it’s not as clean as Google Reader. There’s also the fact that I don’t have time to read blog posts these days, which might be the more important factor. Still, I don’t like change. Boo hiss. I’ll get used to Feedly but I’ll complain about it first.
**As another aside, one of the characters in a play-by-mail game I ran years ago (or it may have been one I played in) was a Spanish knight called Ivor Hujego. Loved that name. Still do. May have to steal it for a game someday, even if it means I have to transgender it to Iva Hujugo or something.

I wrestled with it a long time too – what is the point of talking about yourself unless you have an ego? When I finally answered that question (I wanted to open up to encourage others to do so and to connect more with online friends) that’s when I started. Facebook is only easier because (for the most part) you are already friends with the people there.
I use Bamboo, built directly into my Firefox browser, which is nice. I never used G-reader so I don’t know how it compares.

I never used readers until there was all the outcry about Google Reader going away. Feedly appeared to have stepped up to become “the replacement” so I figured “Why not?” and gave it a try. It seems decent. A few glitches here and there but they’re minor. And I’ve actually got more blogs added into it than I used to check, but still get through them faster too. If this is the poor cousin to Google Reader… makes me wish I’d given it a try when it was still extant.

I use Newsblur as a replacement for Google Reader, works pretty well I think and reasonably similar to GR in one of the view options.

I might as well pipe in with a Google Reader replacement opinion. I’ve been using The Old Reader for over a month now. It has been a great replacement and they have overcome most of the problems that the Google exodus caused.

Thanks for the reader tips – I’m trying out The Old Reader now and will run it concurrently with Feedly for a bit to see which I prefer.

Obviously, I don’t come here as often as I should. But I haven’t missed your last few posts by too many days. Considering I apparently will read and comment on posts over a year later, this is par for the course. I don’t read nearly as many blog posts as I’d like. But I’m ever grateful for any nuggets of wisdom that flow from your keyboard. 😉

Heh! Given how slow I’ve been at reading blogs lately, I won’t be throwing any stones. I’m still mulling over the idea – right now I don’t feel I have a lot of wisdom to mine, at least as far as games go. 😉
